My Inquiry is starting to unfold and I have come up with the question 'With the
economic climate in its current state, what will a new production company
within the performing arts Industry, need to take into consideration to
develop?'
I feel that this can get me answers to help me in the future but it means i can use my work place at present as a building block. I will use my sword fighting as a case study to see how a specific skill can cope within the industry and see where this skill can lead. can it be used in education? Where can this one skill lead?
I will then use my work placement within WD production as a co creator/actor to get the other side of a business. How does it cope with making decisions? How do you know the project will work?
am i being to vague or am i leading myself into oblivion with so many paths to chose from?
Let me know what you think!
I have been thinking intently on my inquiry for the past day, and I had a revelation. For the next two weeks I am working down the globe as a sword fighter, showing the public how it is done on stage. After one day I realised why not use this as my Inquiry. i am down here at least once a week, and when its a holiday, even more. It is an extracurricular activity outside of the usually triple threat but can be seen as beneficial as it is multidisciplinary. I have been sword fighting for 4 years and through that time, I have learned to fight and now I teach others. I plan to use my experience, training and teaching within the work place to discover what is required for a company within the fighting Industry. Can something so specific to theatre be used in an educational environment? Can a company be created from just sword fighting alone or should all aspects of performing be considered?
